More Details
The Turkey Day Run has been a Charleston Thanksgiving Day tradition for the last 47 years in the Lowcountry. The annual run/walk takes place in downtown Charleston’s Marion Square on Thanksgiving morning with a Race Expo and packet pick up the day before.

The Turkey Day Race brings together the community in a safe and family-fun atmosphere. The event welcomes all people to participate as athletes, volunteers, or spectators.

The race starts at Marion Square in historic downtown Charleston – at the intersection of Meeting and Calhoun Streets.

Heading south on Meeting Street, runners pass Citadel Square Baptish Church, Historic Market, Gibbes Museum of Art, The Mills House Hotel and Fireproof Building. Runners reach the “Four Corners of Law” at the intersection of Meeting and Broad Streets, named because Charleston City Hall, Federal Courthouse and Post Office, County Courthouse (formerly the South Carolina statehouse) and St. Michael’s Episcopal Church adorn its corners. Before turning right onto South Battery, registrants will get their fill of authentic historic homes, including Calhoun Mansion.

After skirting White Point Gardens, the course turns right onto Murray Blvd. and to the west, passing Fort Sumter House and turning back onto South Battery before making a right on King Street.

King Street offers more of Charleston’s southern charm, including the Miles Brewton House and the William Aiken House as well as numerous antique shops and boutiques in the heart of the business district. The Finish Line is located on the west side of Marion Square, in front of Francis Marion Hotel.
